On July 20–21, 2026, Andreas Ahrens and Elena Zascherinska from the University of Wismar (Germany) visited Kokshetau University to discuss DIANA project progress and explore rural tourism potential in Burabay.
As part of the implementation of the ERASMUS+ / KA2 / CBHE project 101237740 DIANA, on July 20–21, 2026, colleagues from the University of Wismar (Germany), Andreas Ahrens and Elena Zascherinska, visited Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov. During the two-day visit, the international partners, who are leaders of one of the project work packages, jointly with the team of our university discussed the progress of the project implementation, the next stages of cooperation, and the fulfillment of planned activities. In particular, a meeting was held with the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dinara Ryspayeva, where issues related to the development of international cooperation, implementation of the DIANA project, and prospects for further collaboration were considered. A working meeting was also held with members of the project team, where the main focus was placed on discussing educational programs and academic courses related to rural tourism and entrepreneurship. One of the key activities of the visit was a field trip to Burabay, where the German colleagues were introduced to the tourism potential of the Akmola region and the opportunities for developing rural tourism. During the field visit, participants discussed the prospects for creating sustainable tourism products, engaging local communities, and fostering entrepreneurship in rural areas.
